Class Descriptions

Aqua Bootcamp  is a group exercise that is based on targeting fitness components that include agility, balance, coordination and speed with cardio. The format is one of calisthenics, body weight exercises, interval and resistance training used with a work cycle and recovery cycle segments; these segments can be performed as timed or number of repetitions (Taught by Alicia Dermady)

Aqua Fit is an exercise class in shallow water set to upbeat music with focus on aerobic and strength components. Class format includes program variations of warm up, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular fitness and flexibility and ending with relaxing cool down. Get healthier and feel energized. All levels welcome! (Taught by Linda Rudnick-Smith)

Aqua Intervals are timed segments of cardio respiratory work with or without equipment and timed segments of rest.. The movements are executed to music of a fast BPM and the ratio is 1 part work hard-2 parts rest generally (Taught by Alicia Dermady)

Aqua Zumba is perfect for those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. There is less impact on your joints during class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles (Taught by Lindy Drapikowski)

Arthritis Swim is a gentle, warm water exercise program for people with arthritis. Activities are tailored to your abilities and skill levels. You don’t need to know how to swim. Classes are 1 hour long and each session is 8 weeks. Class will help you move easier and with less pain, feel stronger, fitter, and more flexible (Taught by Vivian McMahon)

Bootcamp utilizes different workout equipment such as jump ropes and free weights and bands. Participants rotate throughout stations sets at a specific time. It’s a great workout perfect for all levels (Taught by Shaune Montgomery)

Catch the wave is a newly designed Aqua class combining 35 minutes of carefully choreographed exercises set to fun and energizing music to safely and effectively work all muscle groups, followed by 20 minutes of water yoga to gently stretch and relax the muscles just worked (Taught by Phyllis Amaral)

Deep water is exercise performed in water depths that allow the participant to remain vertical and yet not touch the pool bottom, providing a truly non impact workout. Flotation equipment is typically used to maintain correct alignment. Deep water classes use an array of equipment that will fit any size person; this equipment consists of flotation belts, arm floats buoyancy cuffs and noodles. The equipment can be use individually or in any combination that an individual feels comfortable with (Taught by Alicia Dermady)

Gentle Yoga is a safe and effective stretching and relaxing asanas where you will build core strength, learn to focus, and shed stress (Taught by Phyllis Amaral)

Intervals may be a mixture of  body weight exercises, TRX , free weights, balance, and low/high impact functional moves set to specific time intervals. All levels can participate (Taught by Shaune Montgomery)

Silver Sneakers Circuit offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball.  A chair is available for support. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants (Taught by Phyllis Amaral)

Silver Sneakers Classic will have you moving to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted by the student depending on their fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning to intermediate skill levels (Taught by Phyllis Amaral)

Silver Sneakers Stability is  designed to help you become stronger and improve balance. The movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving your reaction time. This class is designed for fall prevention and is suitable for nearly every fitness level. It can be adapted depending on the skill of individual participants. A chair may be used for balance and support (Taught by Shaune Montgomery)

Silver Sneakers Yoga moves through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness levels (Taught by Shaune Montgomery)

Total Barre is a high-energy program focusing on strength, flexibility, stamina and dynamic stability. The predominantly standing workouts are driven by music which, when used appropriately, has been proven to increase coordination, motivation and improve movement quality (Taught by Sue Wuerthner)

TRX Intervals uses suspension straps and your own body weight for 30 second intervals of different exercises that will work your entire body. You can change the intensity with speed and impact. All levels can participate and work to their own ability (Taught by Shaune Montgomery)

Water Cardio will tone and sculpt your body with no impact to your joints. This popular workout is a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training, and may incorporate resistance tools such as buoyant water weights and noodles (Taught by Jody Satalin)

Water Tabata is a high intensity interval training that is designed to elevate the heart rate. The format is 20 seconds of high intensity exercise (jacks) with a 10 second rest, repeated 8 times for a total of 4 minutes. This class follows a music format that indicates start and stop time for the intervals (Taught by Kate McCormick)

willPower Barre-Fusion is a hybrid of of the willPower Method exercises and ballet barre skills. This full-body muscular endurance workout brings local muscle groups to the point of fatigue, and then stretched to lengthen them.  Resulting in long, lean, toned and healthy muscles (Taught by Ashley Palestini)

willPower & Grace is a fusion of postures and drills, this workout is as philosophical is it is physical; a full-body functional workout meets sports psychology. Smartest and safest Foot Fitness exercises used to strengthen your feet and enhance your balance while simultaneously conditioning the entire body and yielding a high caloric burn. This unique workout for students of all levels (Taught by Ashley Palestini)

willPower IGNITE gets it ALL done in one hour! Equipment free high intensity interval exercises for your entire body.  Designed for students of all levels, and will turbo-fire your metabolism! (Taught by Ashley Palestini)

Yin Yoga is designed to penetrate deep into connective tissue through holding a variety of familiar yoga poses for a longer period of time. Yin helps detoxify and prevent degeneration while improving ones current state of health (Taught by Jody Satalin)

Zumba mixes low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. It’s a total body workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class (Taught by Lindy Drapikowski)
